Central African Republic: Council launches EU military training mission (EUTM RCA)

On 16 July 2016, the Council of the European Union launched the military training mission in the Central African Republic (EUTM RCA). It will provide strategic advice to the Central African Republic's Ministry of Defence and the general staff, as well as education to officers and non-commissioned officers, and training to the Central African Armed Forces (FACA).

The Council of the European Union had approved the establishment of the mission on the 19 April 2016.
