Joint Statement by Dimitris Avramopoulos, European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs, and Citizenship, and John McCallum, Canadian Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, following meetings in Brussels

On the 11 July 2016, the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs, and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos and John McCallum, Canadian Minister for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, made a joint statement about the ongoing assessment of Romania and Bulgaria against Canada’s criteria for a visa exemption.

This meeting is following up on the previous dialogue on visa issues, which had been held on the 23 May 2016 in Canada.
