Budgets MEPs back €6.4 million aid for redundant supermarket workers in Greece

The European Parliament's budgets committee approved €6,468,000 in EU aid on 23 May 2016 to help 557 workers made redundant by the Larissa supermarket in Greece to find new jobs. A further 543 young unemployed people should also benefit.

The proposal received the formal approval from the parliament's plenary on 26 May. It still needed the approval of the Council of the European Union before adoption.
