In or out of the EU, Britain faces more Scottish upheaval

As the EU referendum campaign gathered momentum, polls showed the United Kingdom almost evenly divided on the merits of staying in and pulling out. In Scotland, however, the Remain option was clearly in the lead at this stage. This lead to some intriguing questions about what would happen after 23 June 2016 as the Scottish and European issues had become so deeply entwined. Almost all the possible scenarios seemed set to increase constitutional tensions.
