Press Release: State aid: interim report of sector inquiry on electricity capacity mechanisms shows significant shortcomings

On 13 April 2016 the European Commission released an interim report of sector inquiry on electricity capacity mechanisms. This report showed they could increase security of electricity supply but many Member States had to be more thorough assessing whether they were necessary and in their design to ensure they are targeted and cost-effective.
