The European Parliament's plenary session approved on 25 February 2016 a proposal to revamp the European Employment Services (EURES) network, including an EU-wde database of job seekers and vacancies. The aim of this reform is to help fight unemployment by better matching labour market supply and demand. The rules were also set to provide a wider attention to cross-border regions and young people. The draft law still needed the formal and final approval by the Council of the European Union before adoption. |
