Meeting: Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council, 24 February 2016

A meeting of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Council was scheduled to take place on 24 February 2016 in Brussels. The agenda included the following topics:

+ Adoption of a resolution on promoting socio-economic development and inclusiveness through education;

+ Discussion on how to better connect education, the labour market and society, focusing on issues related to development of skills. This debate was expected to provide input to forthcoming communication from the European Commission on a new skills agenda for Europe;

+ Exchange of views on how to promote citizenship and fundamental values through education. This discussion was seen as a follow up to the Paris declaration, made in February 2015.
