EU seeks closer anti-terrorism cooperation with Algeria

The European Union's European External Action Service Deputy Secretary General, Pedro Serrano, held a meeting on 18 February 2016 with Algeria's interior minister Nurredín Bedui and the EU's anti-terrorism coordinator, Gilles de Kerchove.

Fight against terrorist was the central topic of the discussion, as jihadist activity increased in Algeria as a result of porous borders it shares with Tunisia and Libya.
