The European Parliament's civil liberties and petitions committees adopted on 24 November 2015 a joint resolution defending the need for the European Union's Frontex border agency to set up a mechanism to process individual complaints about alleged breaches of the fundamental rights of migrants and asylum seekers. Members of these committees want the the European Commission to include provisions for this mechanism in a review of the Frontex regulation, due in December 2015. The resolution was backed by the chamber's plenary on 2 December. |
