Parmesan remains on the menu

The Italian government decided in September 2015 not to change a national law which prevents the production of specific milk and dairy products using condensed and powered milk, following a statement from the European Commission that such law could potentially distort competition, encouraging therefore its amendment.

Professionals from Italy's dairy sector were satisfied by the government's response, stating that the decision was supported by a 'petition which was signed by tens of thousands of Italians after farmers marched on Brussels'.
