Meeting: Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council, 05 October 2015

A meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council took place on 5 October 2015, in Luxembourg. The conclusions included the following items:

+ Discussion on how to deepen the social dimension in EU governance;

+ Discussion on recommendations from the European Commission regarding the integration of long-term unemployed into the labour market;

+ Endorsement of the key messages of the report 'Adequate retirement incomes in the context of ageing societies', followed by the adoption of conclusions;

+ Adoption of conclusions on the agenda for health and safety at work;

+ Endorsement of the Council's negotiating position on two draft regulations aimed at ensuring that medical devices and in-vitro diagnostic medical devices are safe and of high quality.
