US to station tanks in eastern Europe. Russia to beef up its nuclear arsenal, NATO speaks of ‘saber rattling’

Poland confirmed on 14 June 2015 it was in talks with the United States to host heavy military equipment as a deterrent against Russian aggression. Further equipment would be installed in the Baltic region, according to media sources.

Russian official Yuri Yakubov was quoted as saying any such move would be 'the most aggressive step by the Pentagon and NATO' since the Cold War. Later on, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced new nuclear weapons to be added to the country's arsenal.
