The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) published its annual report for 2014 on 2 June 2015. According to the document, the Office completed a high number of investigations while continuing to reduce their overall duration. It issued a record number of recommendations in over five years. The Office recommended the recovery of EUR 901 million, which should progressively return to the European Union's budget and help fund other projects. OLAF's Director Giovanni Kessler also stated that, following an accusation and subsequent investifation on Front National's MEPs hiring assistans in breach with the rules of the European Parliament, other accusations have come up relating to other MEPs on the same topic. |
