Signature of short-stay visa waiver agreement between the European Union and Timor-Leste

The European Union and East Timor signed on 26 May 2015 an agreement comprising a visa waiver for short stays.

This visa regime provides for visa-free travel for EU citizens when travelling to Timor Leste and for citizens of this country when travelling to the European Union, for a period of stay of 90 days in any 180-day period.

The proposal was put forward by the European Commission in March 2015.
