English devolution: Councils demand more powers

The BBC reported on a letter published in The Observer on the 30 November 2014 in which the leaders of more than 100 English councils and the Local Government Association demanded more powers be devolved from Westminster.

They said English voters would not accept greater devolution to Scotland if a transfer did not also take place in England,
