In the areas seized by ‘Islamic State’ fighters on 3 August 2014 in north-west Iraq, including the city of Sinjar, non-Muslims refusing to convert have been slaughtered or forced to flee, members of the Yezidi, Christian, Shabak and Turkmen communities being among the victims of this ‘cleansing’ operation.
