Nuclear remains linchpin of French energy transition

Ségolène Royale, the French environment minister presented a new national law on energy transition on the 30 July 2014. While nuclear energy would gradually decrease but remain at the centre of France’s energy transition for 2030 and 2050, the plan also proposed that every new publicly-subsidised building in the country would have to be 'energy positive'.
