Investigators from the Dutch Safety Board released on the 9 September 2014 a preliminary report on the July 2014 MH17 airliner crash in east Ukraine. The findings said the airliner had been pierced by 'high-speed objects', and cockpit activity 'ended abruptly'. While refraining from naming a definite cause, the investigators suggested the plane was shot down. According to Euronews, Russia’s defence minister Sergei Shoigu blamed Ukraine for the downing of the Malaysian plane, following the release of the report. The DSB expects to publish the definitive report within a year of the crash. |
