The purpose of the inquiry was to consider and make recommendations about Wales’ constitutional position in the EU and in how Wales is involved in the decision-making mechanisms at the EU level, rather than a more general discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of the UK’s membership of the EU. The Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee believed it was impractical to try to influence all decisions in Europe. It wanted to see priorities identified and tackled in a co-ordinated way using relationships with the UK Government, all Welsh MEPs and relevant organisations in the prioritised areas. |
