The European Commission presented the 2014 edition of its Taxation Trends report on the 16 June 2014. This report takes stock of the tax systems in the Member States, including extensive and comparable data on their tax structures and rates. It also provides an analysis on the evolution of these trends over the medium- to long-term period.

In a launch statement Commissioner Šemeta made a statement stressing the need to lower labour taxes in order to create jobs in Europe.
