UKIP vote surges in English local elections / Nigel Farage: UKIP to be ‘serious players’ at general election

Local elections in parts of England and Northern Ireland took place on the 22 May 2014.

The UK Independence Party (UKIP) made gains across the country as results came in the elections in England, at the expense of the Conservative Party, Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats.
