On 24 April 2014, the European Commission published a snapshot of some of the main achievements that it had delivered for citizens and businesses across Europe over the previous five years.

In the online booklet that was published, President Barroso outlined the main achievements of the European Commission 20 and each Commissioner gave three concrete examples of the value added that the European Commission had provided in his or her portfolio.
