In a double-interview with Spiegel magazine published on 17 March 2014, Jean-Claude Juncker and Martin Schulz, two of the candidates for the presidency of the European Commission, spoke in favour of the Eurobonds.

The debt mutualisation project is highly popular in France, Spain, Italy and Greece, but rejected by Germany.
