Networks of Supervisory Bodies for Information Management in the European Administrative Union

Abstract:

The article deals with the administrative supervision of the information management in the European Administrative Union with a focus on the enforcement of data protection law. After presenting the most important bodies of internal and external supervision, the various forms of cooperation between these bodies are analysed. Especially in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ) and in the Commission's proposal for a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) the cooperation is marked by a development of vertical centralization of supervision.
