Press Release: Press statement by President Herman Van Rompuy following his meeting with President of Niger Issoufou Mahamadou

The President Herman Van Rompuy with President Issoufou the economic, social and humanitarian challenges faced by Niger. He reiterated the European Union's wish to maintain development aid. Poverty remains the greatest challenge that has to be combated. They discussed the situation in neighbouring countries, in particular in Mali and Libya and the preparation of the fourth EU-Africa Summit, which will be held in Brussels on 2 and 3 April 2014.
