Memo: European Public Prosecutor’s Office: Commission proposal gains momentum

Following support by France and Germany for a swift agreement on a European Public Prosecutor’s Office on 19 February 2014, the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE) on 20 February 2014 backed the European Commission’s proposal to establish such an Office.

The endorsement by the LIBE Committee followed a positive vote on the proposal in the European Parliament’s Budgetary Control Committee (CONT) and in the Legal Affairs Committee on 11 February 2014.
