Leaks suggest Bulgarian MEP staged slander campaign against Georgieva

Leaked correspondence published on the 13 February 2014 linked MEP Iliana Iotova (S&D, Bulgaria) to a public relations firm in her country, which offered and apparently provided personal brand services to Iotova, but also an alleged badmouthing campaign against Bulgarian Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva.

European Socialist MEPs had expressed earlier in the month strong support for Mrs. Georgieva, the Bulgarian commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis response, after a senior member of the Bulgarian Socialist party slammed her for “not doing enough” in performing her duties.
