Croatia arrests former official wanted in Germany

Croatia arrested on 1 January 2014 the former intelligence chief Josip Perkovic wanted in Germany, responding to an extradition row that overshadowed the Balkan state's accession to the European Union in 2013.

He was handed over to the German authorities at Zagreb airport and flown to Munich on the 24 January 2014.
