Preview and reports of an Anglo--French summit in London, 31 January 2014 hosted by United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron and attended by French President François Hollande. The UK-France Summit 2014 focused on co-operation on foreign affairs, defence and security, nuclear energy and space. Politically, they were dominated by David Cameron encouraging President Hollande to back European Union reform. However, EurActiv reported that sources close to Hollande said that he was strongly against rewriting the EU treaties to suit Britain's domestic political agenda and that Mr Cameron's push for deregulation was 'toxic'. |
