Parliament gives belated recognition to Polish WWII hero

The life and work of Jan Karski were commemorated on 8 January 2014 in a high-profile ceremony in Brussesls, organised by Polish MEP Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, who is also vice-president of the centre-right European People's Party (EPP).

The ceremony was attended by former Prime Minister of Norway Kjel Magne Bondevik, Italian former Foreign Minister Franco Frattini and several other politicians and historians.
