In the second quarter of 2013, Spanish foreign policy has focused on four main issues. First, ongoing instability in the Sahel and the Middle East, which is of great concern for Spain. Second, the reordering of Spain's national security policies, following the adoption of a new National Security Strategy. Third, the deepening internationalisation of the Spanish economy, in which Asia and Africa are gradually gaining importance. And in fourth place, recent developments in Brussels and the struggle of the ‘Spain Brand’ project as a vehicle to promote the country’s image abroad. |
