Press Release: EU-Central Asia High Level Security Dialogue

The inaugural round of the High Level Security Dialogue took place on 13 June 2013 in Brussels, between the European Union and the countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan). The Dialogue provides a new vehicle for addressing political and security issues of shared concern, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and CBRN risks. The stability of the wider region – including Afghanistan – was also considered.
