Speech: Towards a more dynamic transatlantic area of growth and investment

Text of a speech by Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission, EU Justice Commissioner at a conference organised by the Peterson Institute, SAIS and the EU Delegation, Washington DC, USA, 29 October 2013.

In her speech, Viviane Reding adressed the recent US-spying revelations, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and data protection and talked about what Europe expects from the US to fix the damaged trust. Mrs. Reding issued a stark warning that data protection should be kept off the agenda of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
