Press Release: Council conclusions on the Commission Communication ‘Making the internal energy market work’

At the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council meeting held in Luxembourg from 6-7/10 June 2013, the Council adopted conclusions on the Commission Communication 'Making the internal energy market work'.

The Council recalled that the completion of the Internal Energy Market is a priority action under the Single
Market Act II.

Moreover, in order to complete the internal energy market and achieve the 2014 and 2015 deadlines, the council confirmed its full commitment to the correct and urgent implementation of the internal energy market legislation, including notably the third energy package, which includes acting in line with the spirit of that legislation and ensuring proper application and enforcement to ensure a Unionwide level playing field.
