Press Release: Statement by the spokesperson of EU High Representative Catherine Ashton on the situation in Egypt

In her statement on 27 July 2013, the High Representative expressed her concern about the situation in Egypt and deeply deplored the loss of life during the demonstrations. She called on the responsible interim authorities to ensure peaceful and orderly demonstrations. She also called on all actors to refrain from violence and to respect the principles of peaceful protest and non-violence.
