Japan urges UK to remain ‘strong voice’ in EU

In a submission to the UK government's review of the balance of power between London and Brussels, on 22 July 2013 Japan called for Britain to maintain a leading role in the European Union. More than 1,300 Japanese companies have invested in the UK, creating 130,000 jobs. Japan said that the UK's EU membership is a key advantage for Japanese companies that want to access Europe's single market.
