Environment Committee advocates promoting advanced biofuels

Report of the debate and decisions of the Environment Committee of the European Parliament in July 2013 on the European Commission Proposal for a directive ... amending Directive 98/70/EC relating to the quality of petrol and diesel fuels and amending Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources.

The biofuel industry was said to be angry at decisions of the Committee, while environmental campaigners were said to be pleased. The decisions of the Committee would still need to be debated in a plenary session of the whole European Parliament and married with the decisions of the Council of the European Union.
