Luxembourg will hold new elections in the second half of 2013 after Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker announced on the 10 July 2013 that he would resign following a long-running secret service scandal.

Luxembourg's parliament had reviewed a report alleging a series of cases of misconduct by the country's SREL security agency, which the prime minister oversaw.
