EFSA concludes that study released by FERA does not affect neonicotinoid conclusions

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) announced on 4 June 2013 that the conclusions of a study published by the UK Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA) regarding the effect of neonicotinoid pesticides on bumble bee colonies would not affect the conclusions reached by EFSA regarding the risks for bees.

The EU agency stated it had identified several weaknesses in the study, leading to the decision not to reconsider its conclusions published in January 2013.
