Memo: European Commission welcomes progress on proposal to help recover cross-border debts

The European Commission has welcomed progress on a proposal to make life easier for citizens and businesses in the European Union’s Single Market, following a vote on 30 May 2013 in the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI). The Committee voted to back the Commission’s proposal to make it easier for businesses and consumers to recover money from a debtor in another EU country.
