This report explores the effects of the EU Directive on Information and Consultation on national practices of information and consultation – involving employees, trade unions and employers’ associations, and companies (in particular, HR managers) – in Europe. It examines to what extent national practices are successful in delivering adequate, effective and timely information and consultation, serving the interests of both employers and employees. It also looks at the effect of the Directive on national systems of industrial relations.

Chapter 3 presents the findings in six EU Member States, namely Denmark, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Greece, Poland and the United Kingdom.
