In Munich on 6 May 2013 there was a landmark trial against the only survivor of a neo-Nazi cell which killed 10 people and went undetected for years. Thirty-eight year old Beate Zschaepe is accused of being complicit in racially-motivated murders. Eight people of Turkish origin, one Greek and one policewoman were killed by the so-called National Socialist Underground (NSU) between 2000 and 2007. On the 10 June 2013, Carsten S., who had already admitted to procuring a gun for the murderous neo-Nazi trio known as the NSU, indicated that the group had perpetrated an additional bombing that authorities were unaware of. He also exculpated the main defendant, Beate Zschäpe. On the 18 June 2013, a major daily newspaper has reported that German public prosecutors were considering filing another attempted murder charge against the alleged co-founder of the neo-Nazi NSU cell, Beate Zschäpe. |
