Monti in talks to run for Italian PM

Mario Monti was in talks in December 2012 with centrist groups urging him to stand in Italy’s elections in early 2013 year. Pressure mounted on the technocrat prime minister from the financial markets, fellow European leaders and the Church to stay in politics to safeguard his reforms.
