Jean-Claude Juncker announced on the 3 December 2012 at a Eurogroup meeting that he was stepping down as head of the Euro Group at the end of 2012. Who will take over? With elections in Germany looming, all signs point to French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici.

A further article in EurActiv on the 14 December 2012 suggested that Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem had become a serious candidate.
