Commission warns Bulgaria over judicial independence

EurActiv reported that the European Commission on the 31 October 2012 threatened to publish an extraordinary monitoring report on Bulgaria's ailing judicial system. This development took place after lawmakers in Sofia appointed a controversial figure to the country’s Constitutional Court despite EU warnings.
