	Monitoring by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) showed, in September 2012, that 5,037 cases of measles were reported by 29 EU and EEA countries from January to July 2012. In the 12-month period from August 2011 to July 2012, France, Italy, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom accounted for 91 per cent of the 9,183 cases reported.
