Commentary feature. Trying to answer the question ‘who is at fault?’ for the eurozone economic and fianncial crisis will be important in ending the crisis says the writer. There are three groups competing to be the villain of the piece: the Germans, the southern Europeans and the 'Anglo-Saxons'. Writers says perhaps Europeans should blame the 'great Europeans' of the past such as Helmut Kohl and Jacques Delors, who pursued their grand visions while ignoring the objections of those who questioned whether a single currency could work for such diverse economies.
