On 3 August 2012, to the objection of Israel, the European Commission added three parts of Israeli town of Modi'in-Maccabim-Reut to the list of postal codes relating to 'Israeli settlements located within the territories brought under Israeli administration since June 1967'. These territories refer to Palestinian land which were annexed by Israel after the Six-Day War. The European Union states regard this act as a violation of binding UN resolutions. |
