German economy cools, raising concerns about eurozone

German economic growth slowed to 0.3% in the second quarter of 2012 from 0.5% in the first, statistics published on the 14 August 2012 showed. The numbers had economists warning that the euro-zone slowdown and weaker global growth were about to catch up with Germany, where the economy may even shrink in the third quarter.
