China insights

The leadership succession taking place in China in the autumn of 2012 will see a new cohort of party leaders come to power until 2022 and a recalibration of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ideological and policy platform.

This 'China Insights', coordinated by Dr Nicola Casarini, Research Fellow at the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS), tackles China’s key socio-economic, political and security trends in a series of short online articles. With this is initiative, the EUISS aims to provide EU policy makers and interested readers with background information and analyses for a better understanding of the forces at work behind the upcoming leadership succession and its implications for the EU.
